The Jammu Kashmir Knowledge Network (JKKN) began in 2016 as a pioneering ICT-based
initiative of the School Education Department, J&K. What started as a way to connect classrooms through
technology soon evolved into a teacher-led movement.
Brief History
- 2016–2018: Launch phase – connecting ICT labs, pilot video sessions, teacher capacity building.
- 2018–2020: Expansion – multiple districts, structured content sharing, motivational talks.
- 2020–2022: Consolidation – pandemic support, remote learning, multi-district collaboration and awards.
- Post-2022: Activity slowdown due to transitions – but strong demand from teachers for revival.
- JKKN 2.0: A refreshed, modern platform aligned with NEP 2020 and digital education priorities.
